REPORT CARDS WERE PASSED OUT WEDNESDAY, OCT. 22ND. 


Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, Oct. 27th  from 4:00 - 7:00 and Tuesday, Oct. 28th from 4:00 - 7:00.

FCHS is excited to announce the expansion of our John A Logan Dual-Credit Course Offerings. Beginning in January of 2015, students can participate in 2 morning classes each semester that will be taught at the John A Logan Extension Center in West Frankfort. Upon full implementation, students can earn up to 54 college credit hours before graduating high school. Please join us for an informational meeting on this new program. The first meeting will be Monday, October 27 at 5:00 p.m. in the FCHS auditorium. The same presentation will also be given Tuesday, October 28 at 6:00 p.m. in the FCHS auditorium. Contact Mrs. Shaw if you need any additional information.

 Friday Night is Senior Night at the Football field.  It is also the Pink out game.  All Parents should arrive at 6:20 to prepare for the presentation.

Juniors have concessions this Friday; please stop by Mrs. Sullivan’s room for a time to work. 

1st Priority meets every Wednesday at lunch at Sloan’s gymnastics.  All students freshman – seniors are welcome.  Lunch will be provided.

There will be an open gym on Monday at the high school from 7-8 p.m.

Red Ribbon Week begins on Friday, October 24th.  Freshman Homerooms will meet in front of the gym at 8:05 to watch “Consequences of Bad Choices”.  Freshman will also get a pencil that says “Don’t Do Drugs” and wristbands will be for sale for .50 each.  Monday, October 27:  Pay a dollar at the door and get a stamp to wear a hat to support "Put a Cap on Drugs & Alcohol".  Money goes to a family who lost their home in a fire. 
Tuesday, October 28:  Wear jeans for " Be a Jeanius - Don't Do Drugs".  Wednesday, October 29: " I mustache you to not do drugs".  Mustaches will be free to the first  20 students through the door.  After that, students may purchase mustaches for .50 cents each.  These can only be worn on Wednesday, Oct. 29! 
Thursday, Oct. 30 - We will be handing out candy at the door for "Be Smart" - Don't Bully".

Attention Seniors:  A representative from Blackburn College will be here on Monday at 1:30, one from Eastern IL University on Wednesday at 8:30 and one from MO State University at 8:30 on Thursday.  If you are interested in attending any of these sessions, please sign the list on Mrs. Dill’s door.

The IL Regional College Fair will be held at JALC on Tuesday from  6 – 7:30.  Representatives from over 50 colleges will be ther to provide information.  There will be a financial aid presentation at 5:30 for Seniors and their parents.  In addition, two full ride scholarships will be given away to seniors through a drawing.  All students 9 – 12 are encouraged to attend.

   Sadie Hawkins Dance will be on Friday, November 14th from 7:00-9:00 P.M.  Tickets will be on sale in room #317.  If your date doesn’t attend school at FCHS you must obtain a guest form.  All guests forms must be on file before noon, November 14th.  No Sadie Hawkins tickets will be sold at the dance.

  When?  Tutoring can be scheduled for a time that works best for you and your tutor.  Times include before/after school, lunch, and during the teacher’s prep period.

  How? Ask any of the teachers listed to begin receiving tutoring in the subject(s) you are having difficulty with.

If you need tutoring for a subject not listed, please see Mrs. Dill for alternative arrangements.
